MIT-WPU School of Mechanical Engineering is well-equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories and latest software for modelling, analysis and simulation. The School enjoys strong industry connect with core mechanical industries in and around Pune; e.g. Tata Motors, Thermax, John Deere, Aker Solutions, Volkswagen, Mercedes, JCB and many more. Most of the students also undergo sponsored capstone projects in industries. School of Mechanical Engineering is famous for developing all-round personality of graduates by offering extra-curricular opportunities to students. National and international level competitions like Baja, Supra, Robocon, industrial visits, and a variety of events conducted by student associations, industry internships and personality development training are important features offered in addition to academics in the school.
The School of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) of MIT World Peace University was one of the pioneering departments of the then MIT, Pune and has earned numerous laurels in last four decades. With excellent technical infrastructure, faculty, and academic ambience in the School, the students of ECE excel in their studies as well as in co-curricular activities. One of our important objectives is to nurture the students to make them Industry-ready by exposing them to the state-of-the-art technologies backed by a strong foundation in Science and Engineering. Towards this goal, we have developed a strong interface with Industry and research organizations such as Texas Instruments, Nvidia, IBM, KPIT, ATMEL, INTEL, Tata Elxsi, Agiliad, Jampot Photonics, Relyon Solar, ICTP, DRDO, CDAC, and many others to work on emerging fields. A student-centric approach of the school encouraged our students to form IEEE Student Branch, IETE Forum, AES, clubs such as MERC, MARS, MASS. Recently, our students have made winning entries at Smart India Hackathon, INTEL Product Design Contest, Mitsubishi Electric Cup, Robocon and many more. The school provides excellent placements and entrepreneurship opportunities to its students and has a strong alumni base spread across the globe, contributing towards the advancement of technology for the betterment of humanity. At MIT-WPU, the department has Centre of excellence for `Innovative Design and Construction Technologies, which is established in campus. There are active Memorandum of Understandings (MOU) for collaborative research, with organizations like, Pune Construction Engineering and Research Foundation, Builders Association of India, KL Structures USA, BSDC College UK. A Civil Engineer has to work in diverse fields viz. Irrigation, Dams, Canals, Hydropower, Roads, Railways, Buildings, Industrial Structures, Bridges, Docks, Harbors, Airfields, Tunnels, Environmental Engineering (including Water Supply and Wastewater Treatment Systems) etc.
At MIT WPU, we have qualified, experienced and competent faculty members and quality infrastructure. We have tie-ups with most of the oil and gas companies in India and outside. The petroleum engineering department has a strong legacy of thirty years. Petroleum engineering programme was established in 1983 with a view to provide quality manpower to the oil and gas industry in India and abroad. The Program is accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) in 2003, 2008 and 2015. The broad-based program is based on the competency matrix of Society of Petroleum Engineering (SPE) and SPE International, the largest body of professionals in Oil and Gas Industry.
The School of Computer Science & Engineering is one of the most sought-after School in the University. It is well-equipped with the latest infrastructure and laboratories. The School of Computer Science & Engineering regularly arranges seminars, guest lectures, and workshops by industry experts for students and staff. The School offers add-on courses to cope with the latest trends in technology. The School of Computer Science& Engineering has signed MOUs with leading IT industries such as Infosys, TCS, Microsoft, Amdocs, Accenture, Cognizant, Thought Works and National Entrepreneurship Network, to promote Industry-Institute interaction. The School of Computer Science & Engineering has good interaction with these industries.
